A snowy transfer day….

November 26, 2017Søster Hill4 comments

These 3 sweet sisters have completed their missions! They arrived for their final day in Oslo on a very snowy Wednesday. We had to make some last minute changes to the day because our new missionaries arriving from the MTC were delayed a night in Amsterdam…so  they were arriving on the same day these sisters were preparing to leave. We had a farewell lunch for our departers, and a welcome dinner for the new arrivals a few hours later.

Sister Stolp, Sister Cook and Sister Jones…

Making snow angels with the elders while waiting for interviews with President Hill….

Sister Jones…

Elder Mathews….

and a snowball fight…

Elder Ashby, Elder Cole, and Elder Mathews….

We love these wonderful missionaries! Ha det bra Sisters!

Because of the snowy road conditions, we sent the Oslo Sisters and the Assistants on the airport train to pick up our new missionaries. We were waiting at the mission home with warm hugs/handshakes and dinner!

Sister Davis and Sister Earl waiting at the airport for our new missionaries!

They made it!!! Sister Elison, Sister Stocks, Sister Richards, Elder Baughan, Elder Memmott….

Because of the flght delays our sisters returning home were able to meet, hug, and give some words of advice to their replacements. They had a sweet few moments together and of course I had to have a picture!

These sisters were soooo excited to find out their first areas!

Sister Richards had no idea that Sister Earl was her new companion and they had been together all afternoon. They will be serving in Nordstrand (Oslo).

Looking at their areas on google earth!

Elder Baughan…

Elder Memmott was excited to try some Norwegian chocolate….

And in the middle of our crazy day…Our daughter arrived from Utah for Thanksgiving and surprised us by bringing along our little grand daughter Emma!

Thanksgiving Day 2017 was a special day for our newest missionaries in Norway!

One last goodbye before heading to the train station, airport and a drive to Oslo.

Sister Ogeltree, Sister Earl and Sister Davis arrived to pick up Sister Richards.

What a busy busy week for you! Hopefully you will be able to enjoy a more relaxing week this week (do those ever exist). Thank you for posting and always keeping us at home up to date. We feel so much closer to what’s going on so many miles away!

Sister Hill
Thank you for posting the great pictures. Sis Richards is our first Grandchild to go on a mission. She is as super wonderful person. We love her more than words can express. She lived with us this summer while she worked. We had many visits to the Temple to do baptisms with her and later other things after her call. Thanks for taking care of her. We have served 3 Sr msn’s and know the importance of the President and his wife in the lives of the young missionaries. Thank you for everything.
