We stayed in Oslo this week. We were able to catch up and plan ahead. Our missionaries worked hard today (Friday) to clean up the street outside our office and Institute building. The reopening of the Institute is tonight. We appreciate the efforts by Elder Lemon who was the idea man on this service project!
Friday afternoon we flew to Alta to visit our 2 missionaries and the branch there. It was cool and beautiful! We drove 2 hours to Hammerfest on Saturday and spent Saturday night with the Andersen family. It was fun to be in a house with children again. We almost brought a few home with us!
Friday…. We finished off the week with our MLC meeting. The zone leaders, sister training leaders and our Assistants met at the mission home. It was a beautiful day in Oslo!
Thursday we met with the other half of our missionaries in Bergen. We had a wonderful meeting with the northern and western parts of our mission. It was a beautiful, rainy day in Bergen! We also were excited to be joined by our senior couples!

Over the last few months the YSA Center in Oslo has been remodeled and our mission office has been relocated to share part of that building. I spent the afternoon yesterday in Oslo with Sister Hartley before she left for home today. It was my first time to see the harbor and walk the streets of the city. These girls are from the Oslo YSA group. They came to say goodbye. We celebrated her last day with an ice-cream!
We visited Fredikstad last week at lunch time and found Elder Tennant making spaghetti! They have a beautiful view of the city from their apartment. We spent Saturday evening at a youth conference in Drammen. These great missionaries were also on the program.
We traveled to Stavanger on Friday afternoon. It was a beautiful drive! Our son Chad and his wife came from London. The weather was perfect! We joined them for a hike on Saturday morning to Preikestolen (pulpit rock). The hike is 2.4 miles on a rocky path. It is quite challenging to watch your feet every step of the way….
