A weekend in Haugesund/Rogaland County…

Does this look familiar? This beautiful bronze bas relief is a replica of the Handcart Pioneers Monument on Temple Square  The original was sculpted by Torleif Knaphus, a convert from Norway who immigrated to Utah. The replica sits in Knaphus, Norway, about 40 miles from Haugesund. There is a plaque next to the Shell Gas Station to honor his memory.

The beautiful countryside nearby…

Sister Horocks and Sister Wheeler were our tour guides for the day!

Waterfalls everywhere!!

Sauda Norway…

What a blessing it was to be with the sisters as they taught this sweet investigator. A wonderful end to an awesome day in beautiful Norway…(The beautiful needle point at the top of the page was made by his wife many years ago)

MORNING IN HAUGESUND…

We finished the day Sunday by sharing a wonderful meal with some members and the sister missionaries at Ingebjørg’s home. We loved our weekend in Haugesund!
