First Transfer Training- August

August 17, 2017Søster Hill7 comments

President Hill has been busy finishing interviews for the transfer. Sister Hess, Sister Reid, Elder Briggs and Elder Garlick had dinner and an interview on Sunday. We were joined by two amazing YSA from the Sandvika ward, including Sister Vega, one our former missionaries from Norway! (Sister Vega is in the striped skirt)

Tuesday we began our two day training for new missionaries. They loved being united with their MTC group. It was fun to spend a power packed 36 hours together. This is wonderful group with lots of energy! They are true desciples of Christ, and will represent Him well as they share the gospel with those who are waiting to hear their message.

Our wonderful group of new missionaries who arrived just a month ago!

And their trainers…..

Sister Wheeler and Sister Horrocks enjoy a hamburger for lunch!

A section on area books taught by Elder Ashby…

We also had some help from the missionaries serving in Oslo and Romerike.

Elder and Sister Robinson reminded us about visa issues, money, cars, mail and other important information that will make our lives in Norway a little easier.

We took a break to walk around the palace and did a little contacting along the way…

Our old van is in the repair shop before being sold…the seats are in the foyer of the institute. These elders were rowing or driving, not sure really what they were doing but it looks like they were having fun!

Sister Davidson, Sister Doxey, Elder Hadley, and Elder Osguthorpe helped with the training….

Our newest elders..Elder McCourt, Elder Shanklin, Elder Putt, Elder Jensen, and Elder Garlick.

Our newest sisters…Sister Belus, Sister Horrocks, Sister Palmer, Sister Wheeler, Sister Nielsen, and Sister Mumford.

Trainers….Elder Johnson, Elder Rumsey, Elder Wakefield, Elder Briggs, and Elder Braunberger.

The sister trainers…Sister Horgmo, Sister Stolp, Sister Cook, Sister Geddes, Sister Earl, and Sister Bennett.

Making good use of extra time watching the “safe driving” video. On the “must see” list for all missionaries.

Language study with Sister Horgmo…

Final goodbyes! So grateful for these wonderful elders and sisters and their desire to teach and preach as missionaries do….

Our office/institute building is right above an Indian restaurant. Most days we can smell the food cooking below. This balcony is the perfect place to take a picture of our awesome group!
