A week to remember…Departing Missionaries

July 21, 2017Søster Hill7 comments

On Wednesday night we honored this awesome group of Elders and Sisters who have completed their service in Norway. It was an emotional few days as we said “see you later” to these wonderful missionaries. We are grateful to have had them serve with us in the Norway Oslo Mission.  We usually host a dinner at the mission home on their final night in the country, but with a group this large we moved it to the church. It is a privilage to know and love these great young men and women. Ha det bra!!

Elder Mitchell and Elder Arveseth were interviewed by a newspaper and made the front page….their backs made the front page 🙂

Cafe Rio chicken and pork for dinner….

Singing the mission song one last time….

Sister Ralph’s parents arrived for dessert!

We can house only elders or sisters at the mission home…not both. The elders stayed the night at a hotel near the airport. They went together on the flytoget after our testimony meeting.

The sisters hung out with President Hill and I at the mission home….

6:00 a.m. We are off to the airport!

Sister Atanasio partied all night! The ride to the airport was brutal…

So funny! I laugh each time I look at this!

We had the families of 3 sisters come to pick them up and tour Norway. This is the final picture of the remaining 8 at the airport.

Elder Mitchell served as an assistant for 4 transfers. We love him and will miss him!

We did it!

As a mom in Utah waiting to send her son to join the Oslo, Norway Mission (departing for Provo MTC in exactly 14 days-but call wasn’t until Oct. 11.)
I am so happy to see what a happy, fun bunch having good food and making good memories together. This is a really hard thing letting go. My heart is full! I was not mentally prepared for an early departure. It looks like Norway lost 24? Awesome missionaries— but more are on the way. Cheers to much success with all the new ones filling their shoes. Much love and hugs all the way to Norway!
